EMS Grant Program
The ESA's EMS grant program uses funds paid to the ESA by the contractor as assessments under the performance standards contained in the contract to pay for certain EMS needs of its participating agencies. Other non-participating agencies that provide emergency medical services or related support services within El Paso County may apply for grant funds; however, the ESA's participating agencies will be given priority.
To apply for a grant under this program, an agency must complete an ESA grant application and submit it to the ESA on or before the second Monday of the last month of each calendar quarter to be considered at the next meeting. The ESA's grant committee meets to consider the grant applications received during the previous quarter, and recommends approval or denial to the full board. The ESA Board formally recognizes award recipients at a specified date and time.

Grantees must submit a follow-up report to the ESA verifying that the grant funds were expended for the purpose stated in the grant application.
Important Application Criteria:
Grant awards generally will not exceed $5,000, and each grant will be a one-time award, not a subsidy for an ongoing program. The ESA Board may approve exceptions to the grant guidelines at its discretion, and reserves the right to use penalty funds for other ESA-related purposes as determined by the ESA Board in its discretion.
